Hi I'm a noob user and not a programmer. Thanks
for your brilliant efforts. I've asked the grml
team to include sup by default. http://grml.org
They ought to love it as grml is a Debian based
installable live distro for admins and geeks.
The sup log tells me that when I log in to my
gmail account it ends up logging in using
plain text.

Fri May 15 17:20:06 +0000 2009: Successfully connected to
imaps://imap.googlemail.com:993/INBOX.
Have I got something configured wrongly or am I
really advertising my password to the world? Or
is it going through a secure tunnel anyhow?
Many Thanks in advance for your advice If
pipermail had been searchable I'd have looked
in the archives before bothering you. Sorry
for the inconvenience if this has already been
asked.
Maurice

This is normal and just a part of a standard IMAP connection auth
sequence. Unless you've got kerberos enabled/SASL auth stuff in
place, the standard IMAP auth options are all pretty nasty (pop3 is no
better)...

You still connected via an ssl secured connection, so even using
horrible auth mechanisms like this, you're reasonably protected during
transit.
Looks good from here.
