Would it be possible to simply use unison to synchronise the machines?
As long as you can make sure to avoid conflicts and you can make sure
system-specific settings (such as file locations and server settings)
are the same it /could/ work.  Please note that I've never tried it with
sup, but other MUAs have worked fine this way.
