Hi,

I've started trying out sup on Debian Testing amd64. Searching didn't
work, so I installed a replacement library[1] after finding a bug
report[2].

Now the search would work, but when I'm trying to enter something to
search for or only press enter to see a list of labels I used, no
matches are found, and the status line shows some garbage characters
as string that has been searched for. This happens when sup is running
in an xterm or in rxvt; it doesn't happen when I switch to the console
and run sup there.

So I had sup running on the console and tried out to search for
something while sup was looking for new messages in a maildir. But
then it crashed and told me I should send a bug report[3].

Maybe I have created some incompatibilities by installing the
replacement library. But is it currently possible to run sup on Debian
Testing without too much difficulty? If so, what do I need to do?

That particular crash is a transient thing, I think---there is some
race condition with the display logic that occasionally manifests itself
as such. I would just retry. I have tentative plans to rewrite a lot of
the display stuff without threads once we're Ruby 1.9 ready.

I don't know why display is corrupt in rxvt. Do other ncurses apps
display ok?
