hi suppers,

gmails imap service is throttled and it takes a long time for
offlineimap to run through and check if there are new messages.
therefore this solution might be of interest to more suppers:

where curl is used to quickly check if there has been a change since the
last check.

a cleaned up script is available here:
https://gist.github.com/gauteh/7942217

use the return status to determine whether it is necessary to run
offlineimap.
