Well, I'm working on it (slowly) already. It shouldn't be as bad as I'd initially thought it would be. The lockfile library should handle the needs for the dotlocking, and I'll add some fcntl and flock support too, so that it's "stackable" in a similar fashion to the way dovecot works.
