In that case we've exhausted my knowledge of wide characters. Your
locale seems fine and your ncursesw seems like it's being loaded. I
guess it's something about putty, but I'm not sure what. The only
difference between your system and mine is that I can cat wide
characters. My LANG is set to en_US.UTF-8, but I don't think that that
would make a difference...
